Eurovision 2025

voteyescleanwaterandjobs.com – In March 2025, a significant movement emerged in Finland, with over 10,000 individuals signing petitions urging the national broadcaster, Yle, to advocate for Israel’s exclusion from the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The petitions, initiated by the Finnish Palestine Network group Sumud lafondabarranco, were delivered to Yle’s headquarters in Helsinki. They call upon Yle to pressure the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to prevent Israel’s participation in the contest.

This action follows an earlier petition in February 2025, where over 100 Finnish artists demanded that Yle request the EBU to exclude Israel from Eurovision. The artists also suggested that Yle should withdraw from the contest if Israel is allowed to participate.

Similar sentiments have been expressed in other countries. In December 2024, Slovenia’s broadcaster RTVSLO called for Israel’s exclusion from Eurovision 2025 and considered withdrawing if Israel participated. Additionally, in February 2025, José Pablo López, chairman of Spain’s broadcaster RTVE, indicated plans to discuss Israel’s participation in the contest.

As of now, the EBU has not issued a public response to these petitions. The situation continues to evolve, with various stakeholders awaiting further developments regarding Israel’s participation in Eurovision 2025.
